Sunrise on the Pacific Crest Trail

Gene Pallas reports on a section of the PCT we hiked in 2011:

I love the mornings when camping. I usually don’t sleep well especially on the first night. Ibuprofen helps with the muscle aches, but breathing in the dry air and high altitude, makes for some difficult nights… Anyway, once I see that the sky is starting to lighten up from the approach of our warming star finding its way to the horizon, I love to get up in the dead quiet and do a few things without interruption in my own solitude. It also gives me the opportunity to see God’s handy work in ways that are otherwise unimaginable…
