Backpacking fifty miles in the Desolation Wilderness? Yeah, we did that. Canoeing more than a hundred miles through Utah? Yeah, we did that, too.

Horseback riding? Check. Mountain biking? Check. Rifle shooting? Tomahawk throwing? Archery? Shotguns? We do all of that.Firearms

We do service projects, too. Have you seen the Welcome to Foster City signs? That was an Eagle project. Seen the giant FOSTER CITY letters from an airplane? Another Troop 175 Eagle project. Foster City residents are used to seeing the troop helping out at the Foster City Art and Wine Festival, picking up contributions during the annual Scouting for Food events, or helping with rose pruning around theRecreation Center.Scout Food_DSC0125

Troop 175 started in 1966, before Foster City even existed. The troop has been in continuous operation since then, sponsored by Rotary International, with steadily-increasing focus on Scout-lead adventures and service projects in the Foster City area. The troop is part of the Pacific Skyline Council, and is affiliated with Order of the Arrow Ohlone Lodge #63. The troop has supported Scouts to achieve over 130 Eagle awards (as of May 2022), and is proud of all the Scouts that have achieved Eagle.

Whether you like camping at the beach, among the redwoods, or in the High Sierra, you can do it too. Join Scouts BSA Troop 175 in Foster City, CA and learn how.
