The troop traveled to Roaring Camp Railroad near Felton in the Santa Cruz mountains to witness historic battles between Union and Confederate soldiers at one of the longest-running Civil War reenactments in the West. Between battles we visited with the re-enactors, shopped along “main street” and took a ride on the steam train. One of our scouts, who is a member of the 20th Maine, took part in the battle as an infantryman and another joined in as a guest corpsman. One thing we were all grateful for… the earplugs provided by an experienced parent!
