Saturday – Sunday, Feb 16 – 18, 2013

This turned out to be a fun trip, leaving around 2:00p on Saturday, returning 1:00p Monday (President’s Day) and with surprisingly nice weather for February, though the fire pit was a popular spot in the evening when the sea breeze kicked in. Sweetwood has a large grassy area next to the camp site, perfect for kite flying and the family dogs that were able to join us on the trip. The boys checked out the tide pools at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, worked on their cooking skills and practiced search-and-rescue when one of the kites broke free and headed for the wilderness. We played a little bocce ball and were able to accommodate some day-visitors since our destination was so close to home.
