Meet at Scout Shop parking lot (library lot being used for regatta) for a 2 hr carpool to Mokelumne River Hatchery to witness the fall salmon run.

Bring you permission forms if you haven’t turned one in.

2-3 mile day hike along the Mokelumne River to watch the salmon swim up stream, jump against the weir, swim up the fish ladder and congregate in the holding ponds. See where they milk the salmon and the incubation pans. We’ll also explore the hatchery and see and feed juvenile fish, if any.

Bring:

1) Sack lunch, water & snacks
2) Day pack with 10 essentials
3) Dress appropriately for the weather (this trip goes, rain or shine)
4) Camera and/or binoculars
