Trail: Summit Trail starts at Rock City.

Trail a little tricky to find at the start from Rock City. Bring binoculars for a view from the top. One of the best in California if the weather is clear. Largest elevation gain/mile of the ROB Hikes.

Directions: North on Highway 680 to Danville-Mt. Diablo exit. Go east on Diablo Road following signs to the park. After 3 miles on Diablo Road, turn north on Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd, which becomes South Gate Road and twists 3 1/2 miles to the South Entrance. Entrance fee required. Secure map at gate.
