San Bruno Mountain Day Hike

San_BrunoLooming large over San Francisco and the northern peninsula, the wilderness preserve of San Bruno Mountain state and county park is home to several rare and endangered species of flora, fauna and wildlife, including the elfin butterfly.

San Bruno Mountain is like an island of nature among a sea of humanity. Surrounded by freeways, cities, an airport, even a sports arena, this San Francisco high-riser beckons exploration. It’s a surprisingly moderate hike with tremendous unobstructed views almost the entire way. Each new turn offers a new perspective as you work your way up to the ridge, with panoramas of the bay, Ocean Beach, and San Francisco.

This hike is rated as a moderate in difficulty, but we will maintain a gentle pace.
