Scout week and Troop 4175 reminder

Hello all,

last week was a great one! Unfortunately, Troop 175 was not able to go to Wente (annual scout camp) or do our annual 1-2 summer high adventure trips. Because of this, we decided to hold a scout week, a fun week of backyard camping and virtual, scout related, events!

During the week, each day held a virtual event lead by Troop 175’s very own scouts, as well as a backyard camping outing at night. On Monday, Adam F and Felix L lead an engaging and fun trivia tournament, while on Tuesday, Gregory P lead a tournament of the mobile game Psych. On Wednesday several scouts built a recreation of Wente scout reservation in Minecraft, and the troop participated in many scouting related activities in what was the most attended event of the week. Thursday saw a Kahoot game lead by Felix (Again!) that quizzed scouts on information that had been taught in the troop over the summer, And on Friday, two events took place. The only physical event, a citywide scavenger hunt lead by Joshua W, and an online Pictionary even lead by Sam Y. Through all of this, many scouts slept in tents in their backyards for the night to get a true scouting experience.

Thanks to all of those who lead meetings! it was certainly a fun week. I am looking forward to more of these fun online or virtual events as we navigate through the difficulties of COVID-19.

Furthermore, the new Troop 4175 for girls aged 11-17 is still recruiting! if you have any questions, please contact Preethi Karthik (Girls’ Troop 4175 SM) (preethi.karthik@gmail.com), Barrie Dickinson (Boys’ Troop 175 SM) (bdickinsonT175@gmail.com), or Jayu Mehta (Committee Chair) (jayumehta16@gmail.com) for more information.

Stay safe,

Joshua W. , Webmaster
