2016 is drawing to a close and, with it, the opportunity to advance rank using the ‘old’ (pre-2016) requirements. If you’re close to a rank advancement and want to avoid having to complete any additional requirements added in the 2016 revisions, then you need to get the work completed in time to attend either the November 30 or the December 22 Boards of Review.

If you’re planning to complete your rank requirements between now and December 22, please contact Mr Hart asap to request a spot at one of these BoRs. Also, send a photo of the relevant sign-off pages of your Scout Handbook to Mrs Thomas so that she can enter your approval dates into TroopMaster.

If there’s a good reason you cannot make the December 22 BoR, or if you somehow end up completing your last requirement between December 23 and December 31, then the BoR in January (date TBD) will be your last chance to advance using the pre-2016 requirements. Note that you must have every other requirement signed off by December 31, 2016; only the BoR may be completed in January. 

If there are requirements you still need to complete which require some instruction, and which we could reasonably accommodate this year, then let Dominic, your ASM or I know ASAP so we can try to create an opportunity for you to cover those.
