You wouldn’t think it would be hard to outrun a zombie. You’d be wrong. DEAD wrong.

That’s because at Zomboree, the zombies don’t all just shamble around at night. They’re active during the day time, too, and they’re fast. Now imagine trying to get your patrol—alive—from one competition to the next around Camp Cutter while dodging hordes of these zombies.

That’s what our Scouts had to do under the leadership of acting Senior Patrol Leader Andrew and acting Assistant Senior Patrol Leader Declan. And they did an amazing job! They finished 13 out of 15 events and earned the top score out of 30 patrols that competed. Some troops traveled over 100 miles to take part in the event.

The trip wasn’t without casualties, though. Our condolences go out to Mr. Ningen, who was (temporarily) turned into a brain-eating zombie during the event. Fortunately a cure was found and he was restored the next day. Otherwise, that sure would have been an awkward ride home!
