The Foggy Trails hike at El Corte de Madera Preserve provided a moderate yet scenic route where scouts completed navigation requirements. We had a new scout on his first outing with the troop as well. The group was successful with using a map and compass, and we got to see a unique sandstone formation and an airplane crash memorial along the way. We experienced good weather during the hike, allowing us to finish in just under 3 hours. The hike was a refreshing and energizing start to the day.
To get a Foggy Trails patch, scouts must complete a minimum of three hikes from our curated list of trails. This hike counted towards the patch.
